Ukrainian legislation and case law in Claude

Connect the Merit MCP server as a custom connector of Claude. The assistant then finds articles of laws in their edition on the date you need, Supreme Court positions and state register entries, and shows the source of each answer.

Who can connect

  • Custom connectors work on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. On Free you can add one custom connector.
  • On Team and Enterprise, an owner (Owner or Primary Owner) adds the connector to the organisation, and the members connect to it themselves.
  • The connector works in claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Cowork and the mobile apps: Claude reaches the server from its cloud.

How to connect

Pro and Max

  1. Open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Click + Add → Add custom connector.
  3. Name: Merit. URL: the server address above. Click Continue.
  4. Keep the sign-in settings that Claude found, and click Continue, then Add.
  5. Click Connect next to the connector and sign in to the Merit account.

Team and Enterprise

  1. The owner opens Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web.
  2. Name: Merit. URL: the server address above. Continue, check the sign-in settings, Add.
  3. Each member opens Customize → Connectors, finds Merit and clicks Connect.

Claude Code

  1. Run in the terminal: claude mcp add --transport http merit https://law.merit.legal/mcp.
  2. Type /mcp in Claude Code, pick merit and sign in.

Sign-in to the Merit account

  1. The client opens the sign-in page on merit.legal.
  2. Enter your e-mail. The first time, accept the public offer and the privacy policy.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code from the e-mail, or open the link in the same e-mail.
  4. On the consent page, check the name of the app and the address you return to, and click «Дозволити» (Allow).

You do not copy a key. Requests work when the account has an active plan.

How to use it

In a chat, click «+» at the lower left → Connectors and check that the Merit toggle is on. The assistant shows its tool calls.

What you can ask

Ask as you ask a colleague, in English or in Ukrainian. The assistant picks the tools of the server and shows the calls it made.

How to disconnect

  1. Remove the Merit connector in the settings of the assistant.
  2. Turn the connection off in the account: «Підключення» (Connections) → «Вимкнути» (Turn off). Then the server accepts no request of that connection.
